Isidattasutta

[541] On one occasion a number of elder bhikkhus were dwelling at Macchikāsaṇḍa, in the Ambāṭaka Grove. Then Citta the householder approached the elder bhikkhus; having approached, he paid homage to the elder bhikkhus and sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, Citta the householder said this to the elder bhikkhus: "Venerable sirs, may the elders consent to accept a meal from me tomorrow." The elder bhikkhus consented by silence. Then Citta the householder, having understood the elder bhikkhus' consent, rose from his seat, paid homage to the elder bhikkhus, circumambulated them keeping them to his right, and departed.
