[612] "What do you think, headman? That person who speaks falsehood — comparing occasion with occasion, whether by night or by day — which occasion is greater: that on which he speaks falsely, or that on which he does not speak falsely?"
"Venerable sir, for that person who speaks falsehood — comparing occasion with occasion, whether by night or by day — the occasion on which he speaks falsely is the lesser; rather, the occasion on which he does not speak falsely is the greater."
"'In whatever way, headman, one abundantly and repeatedly dwells, by that one is led on.' Such being the case, no one will be bound for the plane of misery (āpāyika), bound for hell (nerayika), according to the word of Nigaṇṭha Nāṭaputta."
