[675] "Bhikkhus, I shall teach you the unconditioned (asaṅkhata) and the path leading to the unconditioned. Listen to it. And what, bhikkhus, is the unconditioned? The destruction of lust (rāga), the destruction of hatred, the destruction of delusion — this, bhikkhus, is called the unconditioned. And what, bhikkhus, is the path leading to the unconditioned? Serenity (samatha) and insight (vipassanā) — this, bhikkhus, is called the path leading to the unconditioned. …"
