[9] Bhikkhus, the eye is not-self (anattā)—both past and future; what, then, of the present? Seeing thus, bhikkhus, the instructed noble disciple is without concern (anapekkho) regarding the past eye, does not delight in the future eye, and is practicing for revulsion (nibbidā) toward, for dispassion (virāga) toward, and for the cessation of the present eye. … The tongue is not-self—both past and future; what, then, of the present?
