[1041] Bhikkhus, just as red sandalwood is declared the foremost of whatever fragrances there are of heartwood, even so, bhikkhus, the faculty of wisdom (paññindriya) is declared the foremost of whatever states conducive to awakening (bodhipakkhiyā dhammā) there are — that is, for awakening.
