Paṭhamaphalasutta

[1068] Bhikkhus, there are these five faculties (indriya). What five? The faculty of faith (saddhindriya) … the faculty of wisdom (paññindriya). These, bhikkhus, are the five faculties. Because these five faculties have been developed and cultivated, bhikkhus, one of two fruits may be expected: either final knowledge (aññā) in this very life, or, if there is a residue of clinging (upādisesa), the state of non-returning.
