[1272] On one occasion the Venerable Anuruddha, the Venerable Sāriputta, and the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna were dwelling at Sāketa in the Kaṇṭakī Grove. Then, in the evening, the Venerable Sāriputta and the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna, having emerged from seclusion, approached the Venerable Anuruddha; having approached, they exchanged greetings with the Venerable Anuruddha, and when they had concluded their cordial and memorable talk, they sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, the Venerable Sāriputta said this to the Venerable Anuruddha: "Friend Anuruddha, what dhammas should a bhikkhu who is a trainee (sekha) enter upon and dwell in?"
