[1393] On whatever occasion, Ānanda, a bhikkhu looks on with careful equanimity at the mind (citta) thus concentrated — on that occasion the equanimity (upekkhā) factor of awakening (bojjhaṅga) is aroused in the bhikkhu; on that occasion the bhikkhu develops the equanimity factor of awakening; on that occasion the equanimity factor of awakening comes to fulfillment by development in the bhikkhu.
