Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Mahāvaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 19 · Section 1404

[1404] Then a number of bhikkhus approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, they sat down to one side. As they sat to one side, the Blessed One said this to those bhikkhus: "Is there, bhikkhus, one dhamma which, when developed and cultivated, fulfills four dhammas; four dhammas which, when developed and cultivated, fulfill seven dhammas; seven dhammas which, when developed and cultivated, fulfill two dhammas?" "Venerable sir, our dhammas are rooted in the Blessed One … having heard it from the Blessed One, the bhikkhus will remember it." "There is, bhikkhus, one dhamma which, when developed and cultivated, fulfills four dhammas; four dhammas which, when developed and cultivated, fulfill seven dhammas; seven dhammas which, when developed and cultivated, fulfill two dhammas."
