[1464] Furthermore, householders, a noble disciple (ariyasāvaka) reflects thus: 'If someone were to address me with harsh speech, that would not be dear and agreeable to me. But if I in turn were to address another with harsh speech, that too would not be dear and agreeable to the other. That dhamma which for me …' … Thus this verbal conduct of his is purified in three respects.
