[1478] "More than fifty lay followers in Ñātika, Ānanda, have died; with the utter destruction of the five lower fetters (saṃyojana), they have arisen spontaneously (opapātika), and will attain final Nibbāna there, not subject to returning from that world. More than ninety lay followers in Ñātika, Ānanda, have died; with the utter destruction of three fetters and the attenuation of greed, hatred, and delusion, they are once-returners (sakadāgāmī) who, having come back to this world only once, will make an end of suffering (dukkha). More than five hundred lay followers in Ñātika, Ānanda, have died; with the utter destruction of three fetters, they are stream-enterers (sotāpanna), no longer subject to the lower worlds, fixed in destiny, bound for full awakening."
