[1501] Setting at Sāvatthī. Then the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna—just as a strong man might extend a bent arm or bend an extended arm—vanished from the Jetavana and appeared among the Tāvatiṃsa devas. Then a number of deities belonging to the Tāvatiṃsa host approached the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna; having approached, they paid homage to the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna and stood to one side. As those deities stood to one side, the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna said this to them:
