[1503] "It is good indeed, dear sir (mārisa) Moggallāna, to be possessed of unwavering confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Buddha: 'Thus indeed is that Blessed One … teacher of devas and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One.' It is because of being possessed of unwavering confidence in the Buddha, dear sir Moggallāna, that some beings here, on the breaking up of the body, after death, have been reborn in a good destination, in a heavenly world.
It is good indeed, dear sir Moggallāna, [to be possessed of unwavering confidence] in the Dhamma … in the Saṅgha …. It is good to be possessed of the virtues dear to the noble ones — unbroken … conducive to concentration (samādhi). It is because of being possessed of the virtues dear to the noble ones, dear sir Moggallāna, that some beings here, on the breaking up of the body, after death, have been reborn in a good destination, in a heavenly world."
