[1536] "Mahānāma, if even these great sāl trees (mahāsālā) could understand what is well spoken and what is badly spoken, I would declare these great sāl trees to be stream-enterers (sotāpannā), not subject to rebirth in states of deprivation (avinipātadhammā), fixed in destiny (niyatā), bound for awakening (sambodhiparāyanā). How much more, then, Sarakāni the Sakyan! Mahānāma, Sarakāni the Sakyan undertook the training at the time of death."
