[1550] "Householder, such lack of confidence (appasāda) in the Buddha as that, endowed with which an uninstructed worldling (assutavā puthujjano), with the breaking up of the body, after death, is reborn in a state of deprivation, a bad destination, the lower realm, hell — such lack of confidence in the Buddha is not found in you. Rather, householder, you have confirmed confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Buddha thus: 'That Blessed One is … the teacher of devas and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One.' And as you consider within yourself that confirmed confidence in the Buddha, your feelings (vedanā) may at once subside."
