[1551] "Householder, an uninstructed worldling who is endowed with such lack of confidence (appasāda) in the Dhamma that, with the breakup of the body, after death, he is reborn in a state of loss, a bad destination, a place of ruin, in hell — such lack of confidence in the Dhamma is not found in you. Rather, householder, you have confirmed confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Dhamma: 'The Dhamma is well expounded by the Blessed One … to be personally experienced by the wise.' And as you contemplate within yourself that confirmed confidence in the Dhamma, your feelings (vedanā) may subside on the spot."
