[1487] "Friend, such lack of confidence (appasāda) in the Dhamma as an uninstructed worldling (puthujjana) is endowed with — on account of which, with the breakup of the body, after death, he is reborn in a state of deprivation, a bad destination, the lower realm, hell — such lack of confidence in the Dhamma is not found in him. And, friend, such unwavering confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Dhamma as an instructed noble disciple (ariyasāvaka) is endowed with — on account of which, with the breakup of the body, after death, he is reborn in a good destination, in a heavenly world — such unwavering confidence in the Dhamma is found in him: 'The Dhamma is well expounded by the Blessed One' …"
