Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Mahāvaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 19 · Section 1573

[1573] "Venerable Ānanda, I am not afraid; I will speak to you. For I, venerable sir, possess unwavering confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Buddha: 'Thus indeed is that Blessed One … teacher of devas and humans, Buddha, Blessed One.' In the Dhamma … in the Saṅgha … I possess unwavering confidence: 'The Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples is practising well … an unsurpassed field of merit for the world.' And, venerable sir, as for these training rules (sikkhāpada) fitting for a householder that have been taught by the Blessed One, I do not see any breach of them in myself." "It is a gain for you, householder! It is well gained by you, householder! The fruit of stream-entry (sotāpattiphala), householder, has been declared by you." End of the Seventh Sutta.
