[1596] On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling among the Sakyans at Kapilavatthu, in the Nigrodha Park. Then, in the morning, the Blessed One, having dressed and taken his bowl and robe, approached the residence of Kāḷigodhā the Sakyan lady; having approached, he sat down on the seat that had been prepared. Then Kāḷigodhā the Sakyan lady approached the Blessed One; having approached, she paid homage to the Blessed One and sat down to one side. As she was sitting to one side, the Blessed One said this to Kāḷigodhā the Sakyan lady:
