[1633] He should be told thus: "Friend, even the Brahmā world is impermanent, unstable, included within identity (sakkāya). It would be good, venerable one, if, having withdrawn your mind (citta) from the Brahmā world, you direct your mind to the cessation of identity." If he should say thus: "My mind has been withdrawn from the Brahmā world; my mind has been directed to the cessation of identity" — then, Mahānāma, between a lay follower (upāsaka) whose mind is thus liberated and a bhikkhu whose mind has been liberated for a hundred years, I say there is no difference whatsoever, that is, between the one liberation and the other.
