[278] Setting at Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, just as an overturned pot only pours out its water and does not take it back in, even so, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu developing the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga), making much of the Noble Eightfold Path, only pours out evil, unwholesome states and does not take them back in.
