Paṭhamameghasutta

[284] Setting at Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, just as, in the last month of the hot season, when dust and dirt have been stirred up, a great out-of-season rain cloud makes it vanish and settles it on the spot (ṭhānaso) — even so, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu developing the noble eightfold path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga), cultivating the noble eightfold path, makes evil, unwholesome (akusala) dhammas vanish and settles them on the spot whenever they have arisen.
