[298] Setting at Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, there are these three searches (esanā). What three? The search for sensual pleasures (kāmesanā), the search for existence (bhavesanā), and the search for the holy life (brahmacariyesanā). These, bhikkhus, are the three searches.
