[435] Then a certain bhikkhu approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, he sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, that bhikkhu said to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, it is said, 'factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga), factors of awakening.' In what way, venerable sir, are they called factors of awakening?" "They lead to awakening (sambodha), bhikkhu; therefore they are called factors of awakening."
