[492] Bhikkhus, on whatever occasion a noble disciple (ariyasāvaka), having made it a matter of vital concern, having attended to it, having brought it together with his whole mind (citta), lending an ear, listens to the Dhamma — on that occasion the five hindrances (nīvaraṇa) are not present in him, and on that occasion the seven factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga) go to fulfillment by development.
