[53] Setting at Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, these eight things (dhammā), when developed and cultivated, arise when they have not yet arisen; they do not arise apart from the Discipline of the Sugata. What eight? Namely: right view (sammādiṭṭhi) … right concentration (samādhi) (sammāsamādhi). These, bhikkhus, are the eight things which, when developed and cultivated, arise when they have not yet arisen; they do not arise apart from the Discipline of the Sugata.
