[54] Setting at Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, these eight dhammas—pure (parisuddha), bright (pariyodāta), unblemished (anaṅgaṇa), free from corruptions (vigatūpakkilesa)—arise when unarisen, and they do not arise apart from the appearance of a Tathāgata, an Arahant, a Perfectly Awakened One. Which eight? Namely: right view (sammādiṭṭhi) … right concentration (sammāsamādhi). These eight dhammas, bhikkhus—pure, bright, unblemished, free from corruptions—arise when unarisen, and they do not arise apart from the appearance of a Tathāgata, an Arahant, a Perfectly Awakened One.
