[55] Setting at Sāvatthī. "Bhikkhus, these eight things (dhammā), being pure, bright, unblemished (anaṅgaṇā), free from corruptions (vigatūpakkilesā), arise when they have not yet arisen; they do not arise apart from the Discipline of the Sublime One (sugata). What eight? Namely: right view (sammādiṭṭhi) … right concentration (sammāsamādhi). These, bhikkhus, are the eight things, pure, bright, unblemished, free from corruptions, which arise when they have not yet arisen, and which do not arise apart from the Discipline of the Sublime One."
