[611] Furthermore, brahmin, on whatever occasion one dwells with a mind (citta) obsessed by doubt (vicikicchā), overcome by doubt, and does not know and does not see, as it really is (yathābhūta), the escape (nissaraṇa) from arisen doubt — on that occasion he neither knows nor sees, as it really is, even his own good; … even the good of others; on that occasion he neither knows nor sees, as it really is, even the good of both. Even sacred hymns (mantā) long recited do not recur to him, let alone those not recited.
