[843] Setting at Sāvatthī. There the Blessed One said this: "Bhikkhus, there are these five faculties (indriya). What five? The faculty of faith (saddhindriya), the faculty of energy (vīriyindriya), the faculty of mindfulness (satindriya), the faculty of concentration (samādhindriya), and the faculty of wisdom (paññindriya). These, bhikkhus, are the five faculties."
