[951] Bhikkhus, in dependence on a contact to be experienced as painful, the pain faculty (dukkhindriya) arises. Being in pain, one understands: 'I am in pain.' With the cessation of that very contact to be experienced as painful, one understands: 'The corresponding feeling — the pain faculty that arose in dependence on a contact to be experienced as painful — ceases, it subsides.'
