[979] "And what, bhikkhus, is the method (pariyāya), dependent upon which that river comes to be reckoned as just one stream? It is the water at the eastern end of that island and the water at the western end. This, bhikkhus, is the method dependent upon which that river comes to be reckoned as just one stream."
