[998] Bhikkhus, it is because these four faculties (indriya) have been developed and cultivated that a bhikkhu whose taints (āsava) are destroyed declares final knowledge (aññā): "Destroyed is birth (jāti), the holy life has been lived, what had to be done has been done, there is no more of this state of being — thus I understand." End of the Seventh Sutta.
