[190] **Work (kamma)**: there are two kinds of work — low work and exalted work.
**Low work**: the work of a storeroom-keeper (koṭṭhaka-kamma), the work of a flower-refuse remover (pupphachaḍḍaka-kamma); or else whatever work in this or that district is despised, disdained, scorned, treated with contempt, held in no regard — this is called low work.
**Exalted work**: agriculture, trade, cattle-keeping; or else whatever work in this or that district is not despised, not disdained, not scorned, not treated with contempt, but held in regard — this is called exalted work.
