[433] There is no offense (anāpatti): when it is the proper occasion; when giving a recitation (uddesa); when giving an interrogation (paripucchā); when, being told, "Recite, venerable sir," he recites; when he asks a question; when, asked a question, he answers; when bhikkhunīs listen while he is speaking for the benefit of another; in the case of a probationer (sikkhamānā); in the case of a novice nun (sāmaṇerī); for one who is mad; for the first offender (ādikammika).
