[464] When it has been instigated (paripācita)¹ [by a bhikkhunī], and he, perceiving it as instigated, eats it — except when householders had initiated it beforehand (gihisamārambha) — there is an offense of pācittiya.
When it has been instigated, and he, being in doubt, eats it — except when householders had initiated it beforehand — there is an offense of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa).
When it has been instigated, and he, perceiving it as not instigated, eats it — except when householders had initiated it beforehand — there is no offense.
When he eats what has been instigated by one ordained on one side only (ekato upasampannā) — except when householders had initiated it beforehand — there is an offense of dukkaṭa.
When it has not been instigated, and he perceives it as instigated: an offense of dukkaṭa.
When it has not been instigated, and he is in doubt: an offense of dukkaṭa.
When it has not been instigated, and he perceives it as not instigated: there is no offense.
