[498] There is no offense: he accepts two or three bowlfuls; he accepts less than two or three bowlfuls; they give what has been prepared neither for the purpose of a gift to be sent (pahiṇaka) nor for the purpose of provisions for a journey (pātheyya); they give the remainder of what was prepared for the purpose of a gift to be sent or for the purpose of provisions for a journey; they give when the journey has been called off; [he accepts] from relatives; from those who have given an invitation (pavārita); [he accepts] for the benefit of another; [it is obtained] by means of his own resources; [there is no offense] for one who is mad; for the first offender (ādikammika).
The Fourth Training Rule is concluded.
