[542] There is no offence (anāpatti): if some discerning man is present as a companion; if the bhikkhu stands and does not sit down; if he is not intent upon privacy; if he sits with his attention directed elsewhere; if he is mad; if he is the first offender (ādikammika).
The Fourth Training Rule is concluded.
