[578] There is no offense: if it is not an intoxicant but has the color of an intoxicant, the smell of an intoxicant, and the taste of an intoxicant, and he drinks it; if it is (mixed) in the cooking of curry; in the cooking of meat; in the cooking of oil; in emblic myrobalan treacle (āmalakaphāṇita)¹; if he drinks ariṭṭha, which is not an intoxicant; for one who is insane; for the first offender (ādikammika).
The First Training Rule is concluded.
