[61] There is no offense (anāpatti): if he goes off taking it, thinking, "I shall bring back the remainder"; if they give it, saying, "Let the remainder be for you alone"; if they give it, but not on account of the robe's having been snatched away; if they give it, but not on account of its having been lost; if it is from relatives; if it is from those who have given an invitation (pavārita); if it is by means of his own wealth; if he is insane; if he is the first offender (ādikammika).
