[64] When the householder (gahapatika) is not a relation, and the bhikkhu perceives him as not a relation, then—not having been previously invited (appavārito)—having approached the householder, he engages in stipulation (vikappa) regarding the robe: it is an offense of pācittiya entailing relinquishment (nissaggiya pācittiya).
When the householder is not a relation, and the bhikkhu is in doubt, then—not having been previously invited—having approached the householder, he engages in stipulation regarding the robe: it is an offense of pācittiya entailing relinquishment.
When the householder is not a relation, and the bhikkhu perceives him as a relation, then—not having been previously invited—having approached the householder, he engages in stipulation regarding the robe: it is an offense of pācittiya entailing relinquishment.
When the householder is a relation, and the bhikkhu perceives him as not a relation: an offense of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa).
