**"Woman" (mātugāma)** means: a human female, not a female yakkha, not a female peta, not a female animal; one who is intelligent, capable of understanding what is well spoken and badly spoken, what is lewd and not lewd.
**"Together with"** means: in company.
**"Having arranged"** means: he arranges, saying, "Let us go, sister," "Let us go, venerable sir (ayya)," "Let us go, venerable sir," "Let us go, sister," "Let us go today, or tomorrow, or the day after" — an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa).
**"Even to the next village"** means: in a village within a cock's flight (kukkuṭasampāta), for each interval between villages, an offence of expiation (pācittiya). In a forest without villages, for each half-yojana, an offence of expiation (pācittiya).
