[729] When [a gain] has been dedicated (pariṇata), perceiving it as dedicated, he diverts it to an individual: an offense (āpatti) of pācittiya. When it has been dedicated, being in doubt, he diverts it to an individual: an offense of dukkaṭa. When it has been dedicated, perceiving it as not dedicated, he diverts it to an individual: no offense (anāpatti).
What has been dedicated to the Saṅgha he diverts to another Saṅgha or to a shrine (cetiya): an offense of dukkaṭa. What has been dedicated to a shrine he diverts to another shrine, or to the Saṅgha, or to an individual: an offense of dukkaṭa. What has been dedicated to an individual he diverts to another individual, or to the Saṅgha, or to a shrine: an offense of dukkaṭa.
When it has not been dedicated, perceiving it as dedicated: an offense of dukkaṭa. When it has not been dedicated, being in doubt: an offense of dukkaṭa. When it has not been dedicated, perceiving it as not dedicated: no offense.
