[752] "Whatever" means: whoever, of whatever sort … "Bhikkhu" means: … this is the bhikkhu intended in this sense.
"Bone" means: any kind of bone whatsoever.
"Ivory" (danta) means: what is called elephant tusk.
"Horn" means: any kind of horn whatsoever.
"Should have made": whether he makes it himself or has it made, in the act of undertaking there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa); upon acquisition, having broken it, the offense of expiation (pācittiya) is to be confessed.
