[783] There is no offense (anāpatti): if [the bhikkhunī] is a relative; if she causes [the food] to be given but does not give it herself; if she gives it after setting it down; [if it is given] within a monastery; in a bhikkhunīs' residence; in the sleeping place of members of other sects (titthiya); in a refectory; if she gives it after bringing it out of the village; if she gives what may be consumed during a watch of the night (yāmakālika), what may be consumed within seven days (sattāhakālika), or what may be consumed for as long as life lasts (yāvajīvika), [saying,] "Consume it when there is a reason"; if [the giver] is a probationer (sikkhamānā) or a female novice (sāmaṇerī); if [the bhikkhu] is insane; or if he is the first offender (ādikammika).
