[798] There is no offense (anāpatti): when it has been announced beforehand (paṭisaṃvidita); for one who is ill; when he eats the leftovers of what was announced or of one who was ill; when, having received it outside the monastery, he eats it inside the monastery; when he eats a root, bark, leaf, flower, or fruit grown there; when, there being a reason, he consumes what is allowable for a watch of the night (yāmakālika), what is allowable for seven days (sattāhakālika), or what is allowable for life (yāvajīvika); for one who is mad; for the first offender (ādikammika).
