[797] When it has not been announced (appaṭisaṃvidita), perceiving that it has not been announced, if a bhikkhu, not being ill, having received hard food (khādanīya) or soft food (bhojanīya) with his own hand within the monastery precincts (ajjhārāme), chews or eats it, there is an offense of pāṭidesanīya.
When it has not been announced, being in doubt, if he, not being ill, having received hard food or soft food with his own hand within the monastery precincts, chews or eats it, there is an offense of pāṭidesanīya.
When it has not been announced, perceiving that it has been announced, if he, not being ill, having received hard food or soft food with his own hand within the monastery precincts, chews or eats it, there is an offense of pāṭidesanīya.
If he receives, for the purpose of food, that which may be consumed within a watch (yāmakālika), within seven days (sattāhakālika), or for life (yāvajīvika), there is an offense of dukkaṭa. For every mouthful swallowed, there is an offense of dukkaṭa.
When it has been announced, perceiving that it has not been announced, there is an offense of dukkaṭa. When it has been announced, being in doubt, there is an offense of dukkaṭa. When it has been announced, perceiving that it has been announced, there is no offense.
