[799] Venerable sirs, the four rules to be acknowledged (pāṭidesanīyā dhammā) have been recited.
Concerning them I ask the venerable ones: Are you pure in this matter? A second time I ask: Are you pure in this matter? A third time I ask: Are you pure in this matter? The venerable ones are pure in this matter; therefore they are silent. Thus I hold this to be so.
