[494] Venerable ladies, the eight rules to be acknowledged (pāṭidesanīya dhammas) have been recited. Concerning them I ask the venerable ladies: Are you pure in this matter? A second time I ask: Are you pure in this matter? A third time I ask: Are you pure in this matter? The venerable ladies are pure in this matter; therefore they are silent. Thus do I hold it. The Pāṭidesanīyas are concluded.¹ _____________ ¹ The M. and Yu. editions read: "The Pāṭidesanīya is concluded." THE SEKHIYA SECTION Now, venerable ladies, these rules of training (sekhiya dhammas) come up for recitation.
