[135] Bhikkhus, those bhikkhus who explain what is no offense (anāpatti) as an offense (āpatti) … who explain an offense as no offense … who explain a light offense as a grave offense … who explain a grave offense as a light offense … who explain a gross offense as an offense that is not gross … who explain an offense that is not gross as a gross offense … who explain an offense with remainder as an offense without remainder … who explain an offense without remainder as an offense with remainder … who explain a remediable offense as an irremediable offense … who explain an irremediable offense as a remediable offense — those bhikkhus, bhikkhus, are practicing for the harm of many people, for the unhappiness of many people, for the loss, harm, and suffering of many people, of devas and humans. Those bhikkhus, bhikkhus, generate much demerit, and they cause this true Dhamma (saddhamma) to disappear.
